GST centrifuge tube automatic production line - How to choose centrifuge tubes

　　The GST automatic centrifuge tube production line can be used for automatic feeding, printing, drying, capping, testing, bagging, packaging and coding of centrifuge tubes.

　　Centrifuge tubes are available in various sizes (0.2ml to 2400ml) and in different materials. Here are some of the properties that should be considered when choosing a tube

　　1. Volume: determined by the volume of the sample. Note that in some applications (e.g. high speed centrifugation) the tube must be filled to capacity.

　　2. Shape: When collecting sediment, centrifuge tubes with a conical base are preferable, while round-bottomed tubes are more useful when performing density gradient centrifugation.

　　3. Cap: Most angular and vertical tube rotors require a cap to prevent sample leakage during use and to support the tube during centrifugation and prevent it from being deformed during centrifugation. For radioactive samples, caps must be used even for low speed centrifugation, and they must be matched to the tubes used.

　　4. Corrosion resistance: glass tubes are inert, polycarbonate tubes are sensitive to organic solvents (e.g. ethanol, acetone), while polypropylene has better corrosion resistance. For detailed information, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions.

　　5. Sterilisation: Disposable plastic centrifuge tubes are usually sterilised when they leave the factory. Glass and polypropylene tubes can be re-sterilised. Multiple autoclaving may cause polycarbonate to crack or deform.

　　6. Transparency: Glass and polycarbonate tubes are transparent, while polypropylene tubes are translucent.

　　7. Puncturability: If you wish to collect samples by puncturing the wall of the tube, cellulose acetate and polypropylene tubes are easy to puncture with a syringe needle.
