How to use the pipette:
1. A pipette is a commonly used instrument for measuring liquids in biochemical experiments. According to different needs, it is divided into different scales, such as 10mL, 5mL, 2mL, 0.5mL, 0.1mL and so on. First, select a pipette with a similar scale according to the volume of the solution to be measured (Note: the volume of the pipette must be greater than or equal to the volume to be measured).
2. Observe the arrangement of the numbers on the scale of the pipette, pay attention to whether the scale is from top to bottom or bottom to top, and find the 0 scale value.
3. A suction ear ball in one hand and a pipette in the other. ※First, insert the pipette into the liquid surface for about 1 cm, first squeeze the suction bulb to discharge the gas, then plug the upper port of the pipette, slowly loosen the suction bulb, and observe the rise of the liquid level. When the liquid level rises for a certain distance beyond the zero mark, remove the suction ear ball and press the upper port of the pipette with the pulp of the index finger of the hand holding the pipette (remember not to use the thumb).
4. Hold the suction ball and put down the suction ball, take the filter paper and wipe the liquid on the outer wall of the pipette clean; pick up the reagent bottle, require the reagent bottle to be at 45° to the table, and the pipette tip is in contact with the bottle wall and perpendicular to the table. , slowly relax the index finger to make the liquid level drop slowly to zero. Be careful not to make the liquid level drop too fast.
5. When moving to another container, it is also required to hold the container with one hand, the container and the table should be at 45°, the pipette head should be in contact with the wall and vertical to the table, and the index finger should be released to release the volume to be removed.
6. When it is required to discharge all the liquid of the selected pipette, pay attention to observe whether the pipette needs to be blown. Generally, for a pipette below 1 ml (including 1 ml), when the entire volume needs to be released, the suction ball should be used to blow out the remaining solution in the tube, which is the required volume. When the pipette over 1 ml is fully discharged, there is no need to blow it. Just put the pipette head against the wall. After all the pipettes are discharged, stay for about 15 seconds. Insufflation, the volume required is exceeded.
7. After use, the pipette should be cleaned in time, and care should be taken to avoid mixing and contaminating reagents.
